The Quiet Table

This is a place for slow meals, soft stories, and recipes that remember. At The Quiet Table, I share food that’s not just made — it’s felt. Dishes passed down, moments preserved in butter and spice, quiet rituals that feed more than just hunger. Pull up a chair, pour yourself something warm, and stay awhile.

Breakfast for dinner

On weekends or holidays, or just when we have some actual time to stay home, it has been a tradition in our family to start our day with a heavy breakfast. Like a full sit-down breakfast where we take our time, and enjoy the food and company. Sometimes, we’d have mimosas too (we = adults), if we’re feeling fancy.

One dish we like for days like these is shakshuka. I tried several recipes but this one from Once Upon a Chef is what we love most. It’s simple and easy AND definitely hits the spot.

Today, unlike a few days ago, it’s raining in our area and I’m thinking of making this for dinner instead.
